Wazalendo will host USIU-A for the 9/10th placed play-off this coming Sunday at City Park Stadium. Both teams finished 5th in their respective Premier League pools. Wazalendo come off an impressive 3-0 win against Western Jaguars and will look to battle a USIU-A side which lost heavily to Butali in their last pool fixture.
The Thika Road based side only won 2 of their 7 pool games, drew twice and lost thrice. Wazalendo have also won only 2 games, lost 3 and drew once. Both teams have not enjoyed good form in the league and will look to make amends as they battle it out for the 9th spot.
Wazalendo Youth’s late 3-2 victory against Parkroad helped them maintain their se
cond spot in the National League Table. Wazalendo Youth led the proceedings of the game for a better part of the first half. Parkroad Tigers came back; scoring twice forcing the Wazalendo Youth to dig deep. The Youth side were duly rewarded as they scored two quick fire goals late in the second half, the winner coming just 25 seconds to the final whistle.
The National League race is still open as five teams are fighting for the top 2 spots. Wazalendo youth will hope other results go their way as they look to get one of the top two automatic promotion spots.
Youth will play their final match against Daystar University this coming Sunday at City Park Stadium.
