Wazalendo Youth Tops National League

Wazalendo Youth sit at the top of the National Hockey league after their weekend fixture with 9 points from 3 matches followed closely by Parkroad tigers with same points but Wazalendo have a higher goal difference. The last match saw the side beat Kimathi University by 4-0. Goals scored by Simon mwangi 2, Wycliffe Mbeda 1 and Fidhelis Kimanzi 1. The team has a mixture of upcoming and veteran players. Coach Wycliffe Momanyi has come out of retirement and giving young lads at this league a run for their money. Others are Joseph Ngatia and Simon Mathenge, twin brothers from JKUAT, Vincent Ouma from Maseno university and Madan schooling at Makongeni secondary. The team has now scored a total of 17 goals in three matches conceding 4. A record in the Wazalendo team. Next fixtures : playing away to Technical University at on 13th August 2016 City park Hockey stadium from 4.00pm

Wazalendo main team on the other hand had no fixtures over the weekend and plan to emulate their junior side when they face Greensharks Hockey Club on 13th August 2016 from 6.00pm. Wazalendo’s last fixture saw the side lose 1-0 to KCA University side. The team has on its side acquired services of Joseph Ndegwa from TUK university.

In other news, the team has bolstered its academy by recruiting 15 boys and 12 girls. the side conducted its nursery last Sunday at Highway secondary school. We welcome all those players interested to join the academy under 17 to attend the next training session which will be on Sunday 14th August 2016 at Highway secondary school from 9.00 am.
