Wazalendo HC will play Nairobi Simba for the second KHU Premier League Pool B match, hoping to continue their winning ways on Sunday 3rd August at 5PM, Kenyan time.
Wazalendo saw off KCA-U in their first league match after a dramatic comeback and will be looking to top the 7-team pool and book their place in the play-offs. On their part Nairobi Simba pipped another University side, Strathmore 2-1
Coach Fidhelis Kimanzi is confident that the players are ready to face the tough opposition. While talking to WazalendoTV, Kimanzi said, “We are ready. We’ve been training well, all the players are fit and available for selection except for 2 or 3 who are still nursing some injuries”.
“There is hunger and desire (among the players) to win each and every game. The last match we came from behind to win it big, which shows that the players understand what needs to be done and they all want to win. We have a very good squad, all fit and are ready to play.”
Kimanzi is however fully aware of Simba’s threat, “Yeah, they are a very good side, skillful and very technical. They have quick forwards who can really give us problems at the back. Their midfield players control the play well. Nairobi Simba are a very good side and combine experience and young players, we can’t give anything away. We have to defend well as well as attack.”
The last time these two sides met in the league, the match ended in 1 – 1 draw.
“I’m looking forward to a tough match and I believe we will come out as victors”, Kimanzi added.
