As the Kenya Hockey Union Super League intensifies into the last 6 rounds of matches, Wazalendo Masters are 5th on the table standings on a tie with Parkroad Tigers with whom they shared spoils on a hotly contested match that ended on a 2-2 draw on 2nd Nov 2025 at the JKUAT hockey grounds in Juja.
The Masters will be travelling back to Juja this Saturday 15th Nov 2025 to tussle it out against their hosts the Parkroad Badgers looking forward to revive their dreams of clinching on to the top spot of the league standings and book promotion to the Premier League come next season.“I am very optimistic with my side to project better results going forward, currently I and the technical Team are working on the short corner set pieces.
We are yet to convert the PC’s effectively despite creating an average of 3 on our matches.” Said James Were the Team’s Head coach.Head coach Were reiterated that all the aspects of the game must be undertaken with utmost effectiveness to maximize the chances of getting hold of the 3 points in the next match, even as the fixture promises to be very competitive, it being an ‘Ancestral Derby’.
Badgers are currently 3rd on the table with 21 points after 16 matches.Team captain Erick Otieno emphasized that the team cannot afford to let go off the maximum points siting their dire need of gaining an upward trajectory in the standings.
“Our squad is on form as we intensify preparations for our next match, we’ve drawn two of our previous matches and we are set for victory” he said.Both the coach and the captain highlighted the team’s ambition by addressing mistakes and working on strengths.
The captain who boasts a brilliance performance in the forward line making him the top goal scorer in the squad and among the top in the league has promised fans a show worth their support.“Our first leg encounter with the Badgers ended on a 1-0 loss, we’ve examined their style of play and identified their weak points, we will be keen to use that to our advantage” the captain added.The fixture is poised to kick off at 4pm, though the club has a massive membership it still asks fans to rally with them down to Juja for support to claim a vital victory for the team.
